Ultramundo does not answer to demand; it answers to nature. Each batch is the culmination of a twenty-year wait and a distillation process that defies industrial logic.
Owning a bottle is more than a transaction—it is a commitment to preserving a miracle that, by conviction, can never be replicated at scale.

Roasted in a volcanic stone oven for 4 days.

Wild fermentation in open-air oak vats known as "tumbas" (3 to 7 days).

Double distilled in an antique copper still, wood-fired and fitted with an oak condenser.

48% ABV; a pure, spiced, and earthy spirit.

Born from 24,000 acres of untamed desert, Ultramundo is more than mezcal; it is a discovery. We found the rare Lamparillo agave, a species engineered by nature for survival. Thriving against all odds, this plant serves as a powerful symbol of resilience and the profound wisdom of the environment.
We do not just craft mezcal; we celebrate the land that shapes it. Each drop reflects a journey of adaptation and the perfect harmony between raw nature and human artistry, designed for those who seek the unknown.

Every drop of Ultramundo carries a solemn promise: to safeguard our land and its delicate ecosystems for the future. This commitment is far more than a mere label; it is a tangible mission. We honor this by featuring endangered species on our bottles, which serves as a call to action—we are actively protecting their vital habitats.
Within this landscape, the harmony of the wild thrives. From small livestock to majestic wild deer, every creature plays an essential role in keeping our wilderness prosperous. At the heart of this balance lies the hidden power of the Lamparillo. Though rare, this agave is vital to our mission, as it prevents erosion and acts as a steadfast anchor, deeply rooted in the conservation of our soil and the enduring future of our land.

The artisanal journey of Ultramundo Mezcal, ‘from ranch to bottle’, begins in Rancho Pelayo, nestled in the Zona del Silencio, Mexico. The process, carried out by expert Mexican hands, starts with the careful selection and hand-harvesting of mature agave hearts. These piñas are slow-cooked in traditional earth ovens, lined with volcanic stone, using mesquite and oak wood. The cooked agave is naturally fermented in underground wooden tanks, ‘tumbas’, for several days.

From the desert, forged by destiny, comes Ultramundo: the story of Lamparillo, told in every bottle.

Cinco de Mayo goes beyond margaritas: it marks the 1862 Battle of Puebla and a legacy of resistance. Today, it’s often commercialized, but artisanal producers keep its cultural roots alive through tradition and identity.
