We just released the trailer for Capitán Palomo, our newest documentary—and we want you to see it.
Produced entirely by the PKGD team, this film is not another mezcal documentary.
It won’t teach you how mezcal is made.
It will show you why it matters.
Watch the trailer below. The full film premieres June 12 as a YouTube Premiere on our PKGD channel.

This One’s Personal
Capitán Palomo tells the story of Carlos Méndez, the man behind Palomo Mezcal.
But it’s not a biography. It’s a look at what it takes to make something honest.
Shot in Matatlán, Oaxaca—the heart of mezcal country—this film follows a journey of resistance, return, and transformation. You’ll see the land, the palenque, the fire, the faces—but what stays with you is the feeling.
You’ll walk away seeing mezcal differently.
Not as a trend. Not as a product.
As a reflection of the person who makes it.
Why We Made This
We’ve worked with Carlos for years. We’ve seen him evolve—not just as a producer, but as a human being.
We wanted to tell that story. Fully. With care. With respect. And with pride.
This documentary was made entirely in-house by PKGD. Every frame, every sound, every edit. We believe in Carlos, and we believe this story will move you the way it moved us.
Watch the Trailer. Set the Reminder.
